FCC Environment spearheaded the DEEP PURPLE R&D project and installed an experimental platform integrating innovative technologies applied to the management of digestate, leachate, and biogas. As part of the technological ecosystem, teCH4+ supplied a turnkey thermal hydrolysis pilot plant, designed to solubilise COD from different substrates.

This thermal hydrolysis plant is fed with OFMSW (Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste), instead of municipal WWTP as is typical in most facilities. The treatment of municipal solid waste presents specific challenges due to its heterogeneity and the presence of contaminants, making this experience a valuable source of technological learning.

Thermal hydrolysis technology with a specific objective: COD solubilisation of the Organic Fraction of Municipal Solid Waste (OFMSW).
