MITLOP (Sludge Management Model) is EMASESA's sludge management plan, supported by two major technological pillars: co-digestion and thermal hydrolysis.

The previous experience at Copero WWTP, where thermal hydrolysis had been operating successfully for years, encouraged EMASESA to extend this same technology to Ranilla WWTP as a key element of MITLOP.

Following a public tender in which the main commercial technologies took part, the winning joint venture, made up of Copasa and Global Omnium, selected teCH4+ thermal hydrolysis technology for its technological maturity, operational reliability and techno-economic advantages.
